Resumo: In the present article, we shall confine ourselves to presenting the legally binding instruments that contain specific provisions relating to the private sector, including TNCs. These are norms adopted by States in the field of the environment, corruption, organized crime, labor and human rights. As there are many conventions in these fields (adopted at the international and regional level), we will present here a sample chosen from among the most important ones that create direct obligations for the private sector and, therefore, TNCs.

Son normas adoptadas por los Estados en el campo del medio ambiente, la corrupción, el crimen organizado, el trabajo y los derechos humanos. Como hay muchos convenios en estos campos (adoptados a escala internacional y regional), presentaremos aquí una muestra escogida entre los más importantes de los que crean obligaciones directas para el sector privado y, por lo tanto, las ETNs.No âmbito deste artigo, contentar-nos-emos em apresentar as normas legais vinculantes que contêm disposições específicas relativas ao setor privado, incluindo as empresas transnacionais. São normas adotadas pelos Estados no campo do meio ambiente, da corrupção, do crime organizado, do trabalho e dos direitos humanos.
