A voçoroca possui uma área de 0,9 ha, e foi subdividida em três setores denominados como braços "A"; "B" e "C". Para o levantamento estrutural da vegetação foi empregado o método de agulha, sendo amostrados 574 pontos distribuídos sistematicamente pelos três braços. Cada ponto foi estratificado no terreno em função de um gradiente topográfico. Foi realizado também um levantamento florístico com o propósito de registrar todas as espécies de hábito arbustivo-arbóreo ocorrentes na voçoroca. Para a obtenção das variáveis ambientais (análises físico-química, compactação e umidade dos solos) foram determinados 119 pontos de coletas de solos localizados paralelos as transeções do levantamento estrutural. Observou-se nos três braços um predomínio de solos/sedimentos com altos teores de areia e com baixa fertilidade. No levantamento estrutural verificou-se que as espécies do grupo das "graminóides" e "samambaias" dominaram amplamente todos os setores. No levantamento florístico, referente às espécies de hábito arbustivo-arbóreo, foram registradas nos três braços 73 espécies, distribuídas em 63 gêneros e 33 famílias botânicas. De maneira geral, a ordenação das espécies pela CCA na voçoroca mostrou que as espécies do grupo das "graminóides" tendem a ser mais abundantes nas áreas mais baixas, úmidas e relativamente mais férteis, ocorrendo o contrário para as espécies do grupo das "samambaias", já que estas se tornaram mais abundantes à medida que houve uma ascensão topográfica com a conseqüente redução da umidade e aumento do adensamento do solo. Observou-se que a grande maioria das espécies de hábito arbustivo-arbóreo não apresentou importantes correlações com as principais variáveis ambientais utilizadas na CCA.It was aimed with this work to know and to evaluate the florisitc composition, structure and diversity of the regenerating species in a gully at Itumirim, MG (21º16'S and 44º50'W) and verify the influence of the edaphic fdactors in the distribution and occurrence of the species. The gully possesses an area of 0.9 ha and it was subdivided into three sectors named arms “A”; “B” and “C”. For the structural survey of the vegetation, the needle method was used, that is, 574 spots distributed systematically in the three arms being sampled. Each spot was stratified on the terrain as related to a topographic gradient. Also a florisitic survey was accomplished with the purpose of recording all the species of arbustive-arboreal habit occurring in the gully. For the obtaining the environmental variables (physicochemical analyses, compactation and moisture of the soils), 119 soil-collecting spots situated parallel to the structural survey transections were determined. A predominance in the three arms of soils/sediments with high sand contents and poor fertility was found. In the structural survey, it was found that the species of the group of “grass-like” and “ferns” dominated widely all the sectors. In the florisitic survey concerning the species of arbustive-arboreal habit, 73 species were recorded in the three arms, distributed in 63 genera and 33 botanical families. In general, the ordering of the sepcies by CCA in the gully showed that the species of the group of the grass-like ones tend to be more plentiful in the lowest, most moisture and relatively more fertile áreas, the contrary occurring for the species of the “fern” group, since, these become more abundant as there was a topograpical rise with the consequent reduction of humidity and increase of soil compaction.
