Art education and overcoming vulnerabilities: Theater as a tool in working with subjects with disabilities

Resumo: | The identity of the disabled subject is also constructed by the social view that stigmatizes it from a disabling habitus dictated by mandates of economy and consumption. The practice of artistic disciplines provides spaces for self-exploration, expression, acceptance and inclusion and promotes healthy self-concept and self-esteem attitudes. It contributes to overcoming states of vulnerability because it builds a social representation of disability that values uniqueness and the social repositioning of diversity. The Theater, understood as a contextualized artistic manifestation, enables processes of personal and group growth. Through theatrical artistic production, each member, according to their abilities, feels like a builder and, at the same time, is built on an empowered identity. |

Contribuye a superar estados de vulnerabilidad porque construye una representación social de la discapacidad que valora la singularidad y el reposicionamiento social de la diversidad.
