Resumo: Our contribution is to present a brief study of the ways in athletic beauty was treated on the big screen from the beginnings to 1936. For this, our study will be based from concepts proposed by Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht at work In Praise of Athletic Beauty (2006). We chose to compose the corpus of analysis a number of documentary movies that have as their theme the Olympic Games in the modern era to 1936.

Para esto, basamos en el estudio de los conceptos propuestos por Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht en el trabajo Elogio de la belleza atlética (2006). Elegimos para componer el corpus de análisis una serie de películas documentales que tienen como tema los Juegos Olímpicos de la era moderna hasta 1936.Nossa contribuição visa a apresentar um breve estudo sobre os modos como a beleza atlética foi tratada nas telas de cinema desde os primórdios até 1936. Para isso, fundamentaremos nosso estudo a partir de conceitos propostos por Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht na obra Elogio da beleza atlética (2006).
