Women and society: a collision route between role and social expectation

INTRODUCTION: This paper is about the social role of women. The main research problem to be answered is: how has the role assigned to women been developed nowadays and how does the disruption of social expectations in their performance contribute to the emergence of conflicts? OBJECTIVES: To analyze the social role attributed to women, listing the consequences of not fulfilling it. METHODOLOGY: The monographic method was used as a procedure method and the bibliographic research technique was applied. RESULTS: The research resulted in the production of a text that approaches the role played by women, and the rupture of social expectations in their performance as an original source of social conflict; another result of the text was the proof that the ruptures in the performance of women's roles that generate the conflict also produce social change.  CONCLUSIONS: The main conclusion concerns the confirmation of the hypothesis in the sense that the role attributed and exercised by women has been developed differently, often on a collision course with social expectations, thus contributing to the emergence of conflicts.
