Black female workers and critical race literacy at the university: a look from UFMG

This article aims to analyze critical race literacy practices that emerge from the performance of black female workers in the Administrative Technician in Education (ATE) career at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). In methodological terms, the research was structured from the "escrevivências" of five black female workers from the ATE career at UFMG who were interviewed throughout the year 2021. In addition, these "escrevivências", in methodological terms, were compared with the experiences of the co-authors of this article, also black women and ATE career workers. In summary, we noted, throughout the research, that there is a vast repertoire of pedagogical and political practices that emerge from black female ATE workers at UFMG and configure critical race literacy initiatives. These actions, in addition to fighting the logic of racism and coloniality, also encourage other socially invisible groups to organize, (re)exist and fight for recognition in the various spaces of social life.
