Resumo: In the field of public health nursing, epidemiological surveillance has been highlighted as essential to a nurse's routine. It is necessary for the nursing undergraduate course to include content and skills to analyze endemic-epidemic processes in infectious diseases. This work seeks to share the experience of the "Collective Health Nursing with a focus on Infectious Diseases" course which used statistical process control charts as a teaching tool in this program.

Se plantea, luego, la necesidad de enseñar en los cursos de graduación en enfermería contenidos y habilidades para analizar los procesos endémicos y epidémicos de las enfermedades transmisibles. El objeto de este artículo es compartir la experiencia de enseñar la construcción del diagrama de control en el curso de Enfermería en Salud Colectiva y Enfermedades Transmisibles como herramienta de enseñanza de vigilancia epidemiológica a alumnos de enfermería.No âmbito da enfermagem em saúde coletiva, a vigilância epidemiológica vem sendo enfatizada como uma ação que necessita ser incorporada no cotidiano do trabalho do enfermeiro. É necessário, pois, que sejam ensinados, no curso de graduação em enfermagem, conteúdos e habilidades referentes à análise dos processos endêmico-epidêmicos das doenças transmissíveis.
