Resumo: In the past few years, an environment propitious to the development of a new outsourcing model for information technology has emerged - the ASP - Application Service Providers. The market is still incipient and is characterized by a big divergence of the ASP model characteristics. In this context, the aim of this paper is to characterize the introduction of new outsourcing models, with an emphasis on the ASP model, and to present the literature on ASP state-ofthe- art, with a definition of the main information sources.

O mercado é incipiente e imaturo, com uma grande divergência das características do modelo ASP. O objetivo deste trabalho é caracterizar o surgimento dos novos modelos de outsourcing, ressaltando o modelo ASP.
