Resumo: The present academic work intends to discuss about the family law institute known as Affective Sponsorship and, starting by this content, make way to late adoption institute. To reach this content, an introduction about the meaning of those institutes was required, going through a historical analysis, starting by adoption, bringing the historical context, the legal evolution, and, from these topics, could be possible to profile, based on CNJ website research, the adopters preferences. At this point comes to light the main discussion of this paper, because starting from the adopters preferences profile we’re able to discuss about children that are found in orphanages without perspective of adoption and have a home, resulting in Sponsorship institute, where a historical analysis is traced and the positive aspects in this institute and creating, lastly, a correlation between both institutes, that preserve the same essence: watch over and provide better life opportunities to children and teenagers that are found in host institutions.

Para chegar nesse tema foi necessário fazer uma introdução e conceituar o que seriam os institutos da Adoção e do Apadrinhamento Afetivo, fazendo assim uma análise histórica de cada um deles, começando pela Adoção, trazendo o seu contexto histórico, sua evolução no ordenamento jurídico e definir, por meio de pesquisas em sites do CNJ, o perfil de preferência dos pretendentes a adotar.
