The article will address the theme of affective abandonment, the affective family and jurisprudential perspectives in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. For this, a bibliographic survey was carried out on the construction of the affective family, affective family, the importance of affection for family law, the principle of affectivity and affective abandonment. It then discusses the view of the courts focusing on the Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul, before the jurisprudential analysis of actions arising from affective abandonment. Finally, we see the complexity of these scenarios and the wide range of perspectives around the topic, underscore the importance of obtaining a comprehensive understanding of affective abandonment, encompassing the legal and psychological dimensions. The emotional family concept challenges the conventional emphasis placed on biological relationships, emphasizing the importance of emotional bonds in defining what constitutes a family. In addition, the recognition of socioemotional affiliation has grown in importance, allowing individuals to establish legal ties based on affective connections, regardless of biological relationships.
