Resumo: The present work seeks to carry out an analysis of how, even with State protection, legal guarantees ensured by the Brazilian Constitution, Children and Adolescent Statute, freedom of religion and worship, and the right of parents to transmit their beliefs to their children, mothers who practice African-based religions, especially Umbanda and Candomblé, continue to have their rights violated, constantly suffering attacks and all sorts of violence inside and outside their temples and sheds. Methodology: this research is bibliographic and documentary, has an exploratory nature and a qualitative approach. Keywords: Umbanda, Candomblé, freedom of religion, worship.

Metodologia: a presente pesquisa é bibliográfica e documental, possui natureza exploratória e abordagem qualitativa.
