Resumo: The Unified Health System (SUS) was created in response to the Brazilian Constitution's guarantee of universal access to healthcare. It unites a network of low, medium, and high complexity centers in all areas of healthcare, with regionalized and distributed management. The accessibility of the people to the image diagnostic services provided by SUS typically follows other demographic factors. However, some researchers mention restrictions on equipment and exam supplies in various specialties, including nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging, which compromise patient treatment. In this regard, the current study's objective is to examine the geographic distribution of diagnostic services utilizing pictures and related technology in the state of Mato Grosso. The data used, which was obtained through the Datasus platform, was afterward statistically evaluated to determine the amount of equipment and image exams dispersed by health regions. The projected 3,567,234 residents of Mato Grosso are supported by 1571 devices, with ultrasonography (59 %) and radiography (32 %) being the only diagnostic modalities available in all state health regions. The accessibility of these is comparable to that of other Brazilian states. Magnetic resonance imaging and mammography were found to have heterogeneous distributions. Those devices correspond to 4% of the installed equipment and accounted for only 1.08 % of all examinations in 2021. Both of these segments' Device counts for exams carried out in the SUS can be considered insufficient to meet the demands of the population.

Os serviços de diagnóstico por imagens oferecidos pelo SUS à população tendem a acompanhar os demais fatores demográficos. Porém, em algumas especialidades como medicina nuclear e ressonância magnética, diversos autores descrevem limitações na disponibilidade de equipamentos e de oferta de exames, o que compromete o atendimento ao paciente. Nesse sentido o presente estudo tem objetivo de analisar a distribuição geográfica dos serviços de diagnóstico por imagens e de seus equipamentos no estado de Mato Grosso. As informações utilizadas foram acessadas por meio da plataforma DATASUS, tal como quantidade de equipamentos e exames de imagem distribuídos pelas regiões de saúde, posteriormente foram analisados estatisticamente. Os 3.567.234habitantes do estado de MT (estimativa para 2021) são atendidos por 1571 aparelhos, predominando aqueles dedicados a ultrassonografia (59%) e radiografia (32%), sendo as únicas modalidades diagnósticas existentes em todas as regiões de saúde do estado. Para esses, a disponibilidade é similar àquela de outros estados brasileiros. Porém, constatou-se uma distribuição heterogênea entre as regiões de aparelhos de ressonância magnética e mamógrafo, que representam apenas 4% dos aparelhos instalados e respondem por apenas 1,08 % dos diagnósticos por imagem realizados em 2021.
