The management model of the National School Feeding Program defines responsibilities within the program. In the state, the model found was decentralized, which according to the literature is what requires a more active social control. Objective: To analyze the management of the School Feeding Program in state schools of Cuiabá and Várzea Grande, MT. Methods: A qualitative study was carried out with three school managers, one from the State Department of Education and another from the School Feeding Council. Interviews with previously defined schedules were conducted to evaluate the National School Feeding Program. Schedules and semi-structured questionnaire adapted to the participants were used. Results: There was a lack of knowledge about the program on the part of the interviewees, especially regarding the biological nature of food, and the state of the interview so far was not able to reach the minimum expenditure of resources with food from family farms. Food and Nutrition Education activities were reported, as well as acceptability tests, which started only with participation in the Alimentação Digoreste project. The suppliers mentioned delays in delivery and products of poor quality. School Nutrition (TNE's). Conclusion: From the speakers' speeches, the need for investment in training and training as a form of support, to the work of the CAE, school managers and NERs is evident, as well as greater dissemination to rural producers, in addition to a complement of resources human and material resources, as in the case of transport.
