INVESTIGATIVE PRACTICES IN SCIENCE TEACHING IN BASIC EDUCATION

Resumo: This study is part of the result of the research/intervention carried out in the Master's Degree in Education, in 2018/2, in a class of the 6th grade of elementary school, in a public school in the region of Alto Uruguai, Rio Grande do Sul. The study aimed to understand how ‘teaching by research’ in science classes contributes to the teaching and learning process, taking as methodological procedures experimentation and investigative practices. It is a qualitative study, with a focus on research/intervention carried out in a class of sixt year of elementary school, therefore, a case study.  The intervention was carried out both with the class leader teacher regentand of the the researchers. The empiria was produced by the preparation of reports and students’ responses of the students to the questionnaire at the end of the intervention. The process was relevant, not because of advancements in new discoveries, but because it reinforces that science teaching developed through investigative practices contributes to the construction of new knowledge. Finally, we emphasize that these practices enable the student to see and understand the phenomena and the world.

Se trata de un estudio cualitativo, con foco en la investigación/intervención se desarrolló en una clase de sexto año de la enseñanza fundamental, por lo tanto, un estudio de caso.  La intervención se desarrolló junto con el maestro regente de la clase y los investigadores. La empiria fue producida por la preparación de informes y de respuestas de los estudiantes al cuestionario al final de la intervención. El proceso desarrollado fue relevante, no por términos avanzados en nuevos descubrimientos, sino porque refuerza que la enseñanza de la ciencia desarrollada a través de las prácticas de investigación contribuye a la construcción de nuevos conocimientos. Por último, destacamos que estas practicas permiten al estudiante ver y comprender los fenómenos y el mundo. Este estudo constitui parte do resultado da pesquisa/intervenção realizada no Mestrado Profissional em Educação, em 2018/2, em uma turma do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental, em uma escola estadual da região do Alto Uruguai, Rio Grande do Sul. O estudo objetivou compreender como o ensino por investigação nas aulas de Ciências, contribui para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem, tomando como procedimentos metodológicos as práticas investigativas. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa, com foco em uma pesquisa/intervenção realizada em uma classe de 6º ano do ensino fundamental, portanto, um estudo de caso. A intervenção foi realizada em conjunto com a professora regente da turma e os pesquisadores. A empiria foi produzida pela elaboração de relatórios e de respostas dos alunos ao questionário no final da intervenção. O processo realizado foi relevante, não por termos avançados em novas descobertas, mas por reforçar que o Ensino de Ciências desenvolvido por meio de práticas investigativas contribui para a construção de novos conhecimentos.
