SCIENTIFIC LITERACY OF GIRLS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY: REFLECTIONS AND INTERVENTION PERSPECTIVES

The objective of the study was to reflect on the possible conjectures and perspectives for the Scientific Literacy process of girls in a situation of deprivation of liberty in a Socio-Educational Center in the city of Manaus-AM, based on the level of Scientific Literacy presented by this public. The research has a qualitative approach, made use of a questionnaire for data collection and content analysis and data triangulation for interpretation and analysis of results. It was verified that only one, among the five participants, presents indexes corresponding to those necessary to be considered scientifically literate. It is also noteworthy that axes 2 (Nature of Science) and 3 (Impacts of Science) are the ones with the greatest deficiencies in relation to the Scientific Literacy of the participants. Thus, the test proves to be an important tool for teacher guidance in the teaching and learning process, helping them to choose new didactic-pedagogical tools and raising awareness that Science is part of human development and is essential for the citizenship training of individuals, especially in the case of those deprived of liberty, also helping them in the process of resocialization.
