Resumo: This article discusses Indigenous literary activism in the Americas. We address the defense of oral tradition proposed by Gerald Vizenor and Davi Kopenawa to focus on how literary writers Tomson Highway in The (Post) Mistress (2013) and Daniel Munduruku in Chronicles of São Paulo (2004) perform tricksterism as “wordmakers” that create new forms of expression for the empowerment of Indigenous traditions.
