Resumo: | The goal of this paper is to illustrate an exercise of theoretical construction carried out upon the principles of ethnographic research within indisciplinary Applied Linguistics. Particularly, I expatiate, in an auto-ethnographic tale, on how my eight-year-long fieldwork experience within the indigenous universe of the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina — specifically within Guarani, Kaingang and Laklãnõ-Xokleng schools and communities, as well as within pre-service and in-service teacher training programs addressed to them by university —, has led me to theoretically explain indigenous languages as social processes. I thus elaborate an answer to the following question: to what extent can the demarcation of lands be theoretically grounded as an indispensable policy to strengthen indigenous languages? |
