Resumo: | Integrated crop-livestock systems (ICLS) are forms of production recognized as an excellent alternative for sustainable intensification. Integrating trees into production systems promotes soil and water conservation, greater carbon storage per arable area, increased biodiversity, animal welfare, mitigates climate change effects. Tree is the component of greater permanence in the production systems and requires planning in its implementation and constant monitoring. Estimating productivity in forest plantations helps to improve forest planning and management. The aim of this study was to compare the height-diameter relationship, described by biological models, of Eucalyptus benthamii Maiden et Cambage in forestry monoculture and three different ICLS: Crop-forestry, livestock-forestry and crop-livestock forestry. The trees were evaluated for 7 years after planting. 5 Non-linear biological models were adjusted to evaluate hypsometric relationship, and Gompertz model was the best adjusted data, but all models satisfactorily described the hypsometric relationship of trees in ICLS. According to our analysis, the monoculture forestry system does not share any similarity in the hypsometric relationship with ICLS. The hypsometric relationship of E. benthammii changes between the ICLS different forms. In particular, systems involving cattle generated the same values of maximum growth, asymptote and inflection point of the hypsometric relationship, and with integrated cattle, trees with larger caliber and smaller asymptotic heights were produced. |
