Resumo: ABSTRACT: This study objectified to verify the community perception in the studied area on the nurse’s performance in the Family Health Program (FHP). It is a qualitative research study carried out among families registered in the FHP atCAIC-Vila Maria Health Unit, located in the south of Rio Grande do Sul State/Brazil. It was verified that participant familiesdo not know about the proposal of the community Health Unit as well as the team nurse’s tasks. It is aimed, from the data,to support the nurse in order to promote actions and divulging activities on the FHP’s proposal as well as clarify thenurse’s functions which entail from the first care delivery up to activities aiming health promotion and education and workorganization, management and coordination of the whole team.

Se trata de investigación cualitativa, realizada con familias de PSF de la CAICAldeaMaria de la unidad, situada en el sur de la Rio Grande do Sul. Se percibió que la comunidad es inconsciente de laoferta de la unidad de la salud de su comunidad, además de no demuestrar conocimiento acerca de las funciones de laenfermera del equipo. A partir de los datos, es necesario subvencionar la enfermera para el desarrollo de la acción y de lasactividades de divulgación acerca de la propuesta de PSF, así como aclarar las funciones de la enfermera, las cuales vandesde la instalación de la primera atención hasta las actividades que tienen como objetivo la promoción y la educación ensalud, y el trabajo de la organización, de administración y de coordinación de todo el equipo.RESUMO: O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a percepção da comunidade na área estudada acerca da atuação da enfermeira no Programa Saúde da Família (PSF). Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, realizada junto a famílias inseridasno PSF da Unidade CAIC-Vila Maria, localizada no sul do Rio Grande do Sul. Percebeu-se que as famílias participantesdesconhecem a proposta da Unidade de Saúde de sua comunidade, assim como as funções da enfermeira inserida naequipe.
