Defesa : Pontal do Paraná, 2019Inclui referências: p. 39-44Resumo: O conhecimento sobre a interação da avifauna e seu ambiente, e de como as características estruturais do habitat influenciam na maneira em que a comunidade de aves se altera ao longo de formações vegetacionais contribui para a compreensão dos processos ecológicos que auxiliam na manutenção da diversidade. Considerando que a complexidade estrutural do habitat afeta a diversidade e abundância das aves no ambiente o presente estudo tem como objetivos: 1) Determinar quais estruturas chave do habitat tem maior relação com a presença, abundância, riqueza diversidade filogenética e diversidade funcional das espécies nas comunidades observadas; 2) Testar se a abundância de aves insetívoras, frugívoras e nectarívoras está diretamente relacionada a algumas estruturas chave, como quantidade de bromélias, troncos caídos e densidade de sub-bosque. Para amostrar a comunidade de aves utilizamos o método de pontos de contagem de dez minutos com raio de 50 metros. Os pontos foram realizados em áreas de Floresta Atlântica do Litoral do Paraná. Todos os táxons registrados foram classificados em um ou mais grupos funcionais com base na preferência alimentar, estrato de forrageamento, estratégia de forrageamento, interação com bandos mistos e massa corporal. A partir da avaliação in situ, cada ponto amostral foi caracterizado quanto à complexidade estrutural (altura do dossel, características das árvores, estrutura do sub-bosque, cobertura do solo, presença de bromélias). Analisamos os dados relacionando riqueza, abundância e os índices de diversidade em relação as estruturas da complexidade estrutural do habitat. Nos locais com mais árvores com muitas de bromélias observamos um maior número de indivíduos e espécies de aves. A diversidade funcional também foi menor em áreas com mais troncos caídos. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que bromélias são estruturas chave do ambiente que influenciam significativamente a abundância e riqueza de aves. Também propomos que florestas em avançado estágio de desenvolvimento são importantes para a manutenção da diversidade de aves da Floresta Atlântica.Abstract: Knowledge about the interaction of birds and its environment and how the structural features of habitat influence the way in which the bird community changes along vegetative formations contributes to understanding the ecological processes that help maintain diversity. Considering that the structural complexity of habitat affects the diversity and abundance of birds in the environment, the present study aims to: 1) Determine which key habitat structures have a greater relationship with the presence and abundance, richness, phylogenetic and funcional diversity; 2) Testing whether the abundance of insectivorous birds, abundance of frugivorous and nectarivorous birds is directly related to some key structures, such as bromeliads, fallen logs and sub-forest density. To sample the bird community we used the method of counting points of 10 minutes with a radius of 50 meters of species inclusion. The points were made on the Paraná Coast in the Atlantic Rain Forest. All registered taxa were classified into one or more functional groups based on food preference, foraging stratum, foraging strategy, interaction with mixed flocks and body mass. From the in situ evaluation, each sampling point was characterized in terms of structural complexity (canopy height, tree characteristics, understory structure, soil cover, bromeliad presence). We analyzed the data relating wealth, abundance and diversity indexes in relation to the habitat structure. In sites with more trees with many bromeliads we observed a greater number of individuals and species of birds. This relationship was negative for phylogenetic diversity in places where the trees had few bromeliads. Functional diversity was also lower in areas with more fallen trunks. The results obtained showed that bromeliads are keystone structures of the environment that significantly influence the abundance and richness of birds.
