No entanto, estudos têm comprovado o papel dos fragmentos florestais urbanos para a amenização dos efeitos causados pela ocupação humana. A cidade de Curitiba abriga algumas das espécies vegetais mais ameaçadas do bioma Mata Atlântica, dentre as quais, destaca-se Ocotea odorifera (Vell.) Rohwer, uma das espécies características da Floresta Ombrófila Mista, onde está inserido o município. Visando verificar a distribuição da espécie e a sua adequação ambiental na área de estudo, foi elaborado um modelo de distribuição potencial, utilizando o algoritmo Maxent®. Para a elaboração do modelo, foram utilizados pontos de ocorrência confirmada da espécie no município e 13 variáveis ambientais. As variáveis mais relevantes ao modelo foram verificadas pelo teste de Jackknife e a estimativa da acurácia por meio da Área Sob a Curva (AUC). O mapa gerado a partir da modelagem foi sobreposto ao de áreas verdes protegidas selecionadas de Curitiba. O mapa contendo a delimitação das áreas protegidas foi reclassificado em Alta, Média e Baixa adequação ambiental para a espécie. Foi recortada a área com as maiores probabilidades de ocorrência potencial para avaliar a influência da estrutura da paisagem sobre a distribuição da espécie. Calculou-se a área ocupada pelas classes de probabilidade de ocorrência dentro de cada área protegida. Foram calculadas as métricas de paisagem AREA (área), SHAPE (forma) e ENN (isolamento), no software Fragstats®. A definição dos fragmentos de habitat prioritários à conservação de O. odorifera foi obtida pelo Índice de Prioridade de Conservação Florestal (IPCF), com base na modelagem de distribuição potencial de O. odorifera e nas métricas de paisagem. Os valores dos índices para cada área protegida foram agrupados em três classes e foi elaborado um ranking para classificar as melhores áreas de conservação. Foram localizados 12 indivíduos da espécie em sete áreas verdes protegidas. A região centro-norte de Curitiba apresenta maior probabilidade de ocorrência de O. odorifera. Os valores de AUC foram de 0,963 (Training data) e 1 (Test data). A pedologia foi a variável ambiental mais relevante para o modelo, contribuindo com 48,9% da resposta, isto foi observado também quando utilizado isoladamente, seguido pela variável altitude. A área potencialmente ocupada por O. odorifera em Curitiba é de 5.132,4 ha (11,8% da área total do município), sendo que 31 áreas protegidas apresentam adequação Alta ou Média para a espécie. A área de adequação alta possui a maior proporção dentro de áreas protegidas, sendo que 2,063% de sua cobertura total está inserida nessas áreas. Apenas 0,028% das áreas de adequação Média, estão contidas em área protegidas. A Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural Municipal (RPPNM) Alfred Willer é a melhor área protegida para a conservação de O. odorifera em Curitiba. Embora os fragmentos florestais remanescentes contenham características ambientais alteradas, Curitiba apresenta condições ambientais relevantes à conservação de O. odorifera. Métricas de paisagem.Abstract: Urbanization causes changes in landscape characteristics, provoking numerous damages to natural environments and ecological processes. However, studies have verified the role of urban forest fragments in mitigating the effects of human occupation. The city of Curitiba comprises a few endangered plant species, such as Ocotea odorifera (Vell.) Rohwer, which is highlighted due to its classification as an indicator for Mixed Ombrophilous Forest presence. In order to verify the species distribution and its environmental suitability in the study area, a potential distribution model was elaborated by Maxent® algorithm. For this, confirmed geographical points of O. odorifera's presence in the municipality and 13 environmental variables were used. The most relevant variables to the model were verified by Jackknife test and the accuracy was estimated by the Area Under the Curve (AUC). Also, the map generated from the modeling was projected over selected protected green areas of Curitiba. The map containing the delimitation of protected areas was reclassified as High, Medium and Low environmental suitability for the species. The areas with the highest probabilities of potential occurrence were selected to evaluate the influence of landscape structure on the species distribution. Then, were calculated the area occupied within each protected area by classes of occurrence probability. Using the Fragstats® software, the following landscape metrics were calculated: AREA (area), SHAPE (shape) and ENN (isolation). The definition of priority habitat fragments for the conservation of O. odorifera was obtained by the Forest Conservation Priority Index (FCPI), according to their potential distribution model and their landscape metrics. The index values for each protected area were grouped into three classes and a ranking was elaborated to classify the best conservation areas.12 individuals of the georeferenced species were located in seven protected green areas. The north-central region of Curitiba presents the highest probability of O. odorifera occurrence. The AUC values were 0.963 (Training data) and 1 (Test data). The most relevant environmental variable to the model was pedology, contributing with 48.9% of the response. The Jackknife test also indicated that pedology was the most relevant variable to the model when used alone, followed by the altitude one. The area potentially occupied by O. odorifera in Curitiba is 5,132.4 ha (11.8% of the municipality total area), where 31 protected areas present high or medium suitability for the species. The high suitability area presents the greatest proportion within protected areas, with 2.063% of its total coverage being included in these areas. Only 0.028% and 0.027% of the areas of medium and low suitability are contained in protected areas, respectively. The "Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural Municipal" (RPPNM) called Alfred Willer is the best-protected area for the conservation of O. odorifera in Curitiba. Although the remaining forest fragments contain altered environmental characteristics, Curitiba presents relevant environmental conditions to the conservation of O. odorifera.
