Resumo: The aim of this article is to analyze the way the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre modalizes, through the existential psychoanalysis elaborated in L’être et le néant (1943), his existential biography about the poet Charles Baudelaire. In Baudelaire (1947), we will be able to locate the prolegomena to any future existential biography, therefore, Sartre’s modus operandi of biographical research/writing.
