Resumo: | Cell therapies involving stem cells are one of the major scientific advances in the 20th century and are considered as one of the hopes for the future of medicine. From the stem cells perspective, medical, economical and ethical issues are all intertwined. Using the complex bioethics model, this article demonstrates that patents are not the appropriate legal instrument to ensure the promotion of research with stem cells in order to safeguard public health or even for sharing the knowledge generated by studies on this field. Informed consent from research subjects or donor’s biological samples must be required in all studies involving human samples that generate patents, as a way to respect human rights |

No. 3 (2008): Revista HCPAClinical and Biomedical Research; v. 28 n. 3 (2008): Revista HCPA2357-9730reponame:Clinical and Biomedical Researchinstname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/hcpa/article/view/7220/4595Fernandes, Márcia Santanainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2020-01-16T16:17:58Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/7220Revistahttps://www.seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/hcpaPUBhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/hcpa/oai||cbr@hcpa.edu.br2357-97302357-9730opendoar:2020-01-16T16:17:58Clinical and Biomedical Research - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false |
