Resumo: The architecture of the modern movement, originated in the central European climate, initially supported the principles hygienists in vogue at the time. The large glazed areas sounded with a statement of assumptions of lighting and ventilation optimization with the desired spatial fluidity. Le Corbusier was a pioneer to follow this trend to construct glass walls with little thickness, as in the case of The Salvation Army Building, but was also the first to change this trend by the invention of the brise–soleil, used in his projects, from 1935 and on. The fact is that climatic requirements demanded in Mediterranean and tropical climates interacted decisively on compositional nature assumptions. This paper analyzes examples of shading systems, in the work of le Corbusier, such as compositional element and its evolutionary trajectory and climate, from the studies of Almodovar, d. Siret and Requena, as a way to rescue the possibilities of shading element as architectural composition parameter in the face of new design technologies.
