USER’S PERCEPTION OF FAMILY HEALTH STRATEGY SERVICES IN RURAL AREAS IN THE CITY OF JANAÚBA, MINAS GERAIS

Resumo: Objective: To understand the perception of Basic Health Care (BHC) users regarding the services provided and the work dynamics of the Family Health Strategy team in a rural environment. Method: Qualitative study, conducted through semi-structured interviews with BHC users, living in the rural area of Janaúba, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The sample was intentional and by saturation. The material was analyzed using content analysis. Results: 12 users participated in the study. BHC was the service of first choice for users for their health care. They perceived the Health Unit (HU) as having the role of offering consultations, outpatient services and referrals to specialties, when necessary, in addition to preventing serious illnesses and welcoming/serving the population in a resolute manner. Reports of satisfaction were linked to the quality of communication in users' interactions with BHC professionals. They identified in the BHC, pharmaceutical and dental care services, consultations in Nursing and Psychology, and immunization. Community health agents, reception professionals, managers and nurses were cited as reference professionals at the HU. Good service from the HU, reception, pharmaceutical assistance and physical structure were positive aspects perceived by users. Challenges related to the insufficient number of professionals, team qualifications, unavailability of transport to carry out exams in the city, doctor's opening hours and doctor turnover were highlighted. Conclusion: This research stands out for bringing the perception of users about an ABS service in the rural context. Its findings constitute strategic planning tools for municipal management. Health education actions in rural communities are recommended.

Método: Estudio cualitativo, realizado a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a usuarios de la ABS, residentes en la zona rural de Janaúba, Minas Gerais, Brasil. La muestra fue intencional por saturación. El material fue analizado mediante análisis de contenido. Resultados: Participaron del estudio 12 usuarios. ABS fue el servicio de primera elección de los usuarios para el cuidado de su salud. Percibieron que la Unidad de Salud (US) tiene el rol de ofrecer consultas, servicios ambulatorios y derivaciones a especialidades cuando sea necesario, además de prevenir enfermedades graves y acoger/atender a la población de manera resuelta. Los informes de satisfacción se vincularon a la calidad de la comunicación en las interacciones de los usuarios con los profesionales de ABS. Identificaron en ABS servicios de atención farmacéutica y odontológica, consultas en Enfermería y Psicología, e inmunización. Agentes comunitarios de salud, profesionales de recepción, gestores y enfermeros fueron citados como profesionales de referencia en la US. El buen servicio de la US, la recepción, la asistencia farmacéutica y la estructura física fueron aspectos positivos percibidos por los usuarios. Se destacaron los desafíos relacionados con la insuficiencia de profesionales, la calificación de los equipos, la falta de disponibilidad de transporte para la realización de exámenes en la ciudad, los horarios de atención de los médicos y la rotación de los médicos. Conclusión: Esta investigación se destaca por acercar la percepción de los usuarios sobre un servicio de la ABS en el contexto rural. Sus hallazgos constituyen herramientas de planificación estratégica para la gestión municipal. Se recomiendan acciones de educación sanitaria en comunidades rurales.Objetivo: Compreender a percepção de usuários da Atenção Básica à Saúde (ABS) quanto aos serviços prestados e dinâmica de trabalho da equipe da Estratégia de Saúde da Família em ambiente rural. Metodologia: Estudo de abordagem qualitativa, conduzido por entrevistas semiestruturadas com usuários da ABS, residentes na zona rural de Janaúba, Minas Gerais, Brasil. A amostra foi intencional por saturação. O material foi analisado pela análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Participaram do estudo 12 usuários. A ABS foi o serviço de primeira opção dos usuários para seu cuidado em saúde. Perceberam a Unidade de Saúde (US) com o papel de oferecer consultas, serviços ambulatoriais e encaminhamentos para especialidades quando necessário, além de prevenir doenças graves, acolher/atender à população de modo resolutivo. Relatos de satisfação foram ligados à qualidade da comunicação nas interações dos usuários com os profissionais da ABS. Identificaram na ABS serviços de assistência farmacêutica e odontológica, consultas de Enfermagem e Psicologia, e imunização. Agentes comunitários de saúde, profissionais da recepção, gerente e enfermeiros foram citados como profissionais de referência na US. Bom atendimento da US, acolhimento, assistência farmacêutica e estrutura física foram aspectos positivos percebidos pelos usuários. Desafios relacionados ao número insuficiente de profissionais, qualificação da equipe, indisponibilidade de transporte para realizar exames na cidade, horário de atendimento do médico e rotatividade de médicos foram apontados. Conclusão: Esta pesquisa destaca-se por trazer a percepção de usuários sobre um serviço de ABS no contexto rural. Seus achados constituem-se ferramentas de planejamento estratégico para a gestão municipal.
