Envelhecimento ativo entre idosos de grupos de convivência

Resumo: The objective of this study is to analyze the meaning of the aging process, according to the determinants of active aging among elderly people in social groups in the city of Santa Cruz / RN. It is a qualitative study, cross-cutting, descriptive. It was used as data collection technique the semi-structured interview developed in the months of June and July 2015. Respondents were elderly participants of Santa Cruz / RN social groups. The results showed that the speeches of the elderly on active aging is something positive, and that the majority of respondents reported fit this perspective, although some still represent aging as synonymous with losses and impairments. In conclusion, after observation of the determinants of active aging, independence, autonomy and good physical health, combined with the performance of social roles, are factors that make the elderly keep up assets, their quality of life preserved along the years.

Trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa, com recorte transversal, do tipo descritivo. Foi utilizada, como técnica de coleta de dados, a entrevista semiestruturada, desenvolvida nos meses de junho e julho de 2015. Os entrevistados foram idosos participantes de grupos de convivência de Santa Cruz/RN. Os resultados demonstraram que os discursos dos idosos sobre o envelhecimento ativo é algo positivo, e que a maioria dos entrevistados relataram se enquadrar nesta perspectiva, embora alguns ainda representem o envelhecimento como sinônimo de perdas e incapacidades.Conclui-se que, após a observação dos determinantes do envelhecimento ativo, a independência, autonomia e boa saúde física, aliadas ao desempenho de papéis sociais, são fatores que fazem com que os idosos mantenham-se ativos, com a sua qualidade de vida preservada ao longo dos anos.2018-12-03Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do NorteUFRNBrasilEnfermagemIdoso.
