This work aims to present a reflective report theorizing the process of initiation to teaching from the dialogue between the practical situations experienced during the internship together with the theoretical and methodological reference of the Pedagogy Course. In this sense, it discusses how the pedagogue should act in the school space. The theme of the study was a pedagogical experience of literacy and its contribution to teacher education. The systematization presents the report of the practice developed in the 1st grade class of Elementary School I, at the "Escola Municipal Professora Ivonete Maciel", located in the "Cidade da Esperança" neighborhood, in the western zone of the city of Natal/RN, in the second half of 2016. The supervised internship is of paramount importance for the professional training of all students, since it is a time when the trainee has the opportunity to experience daily school life and to relate theory and practice. The present work pointed out and supports the interventions in the field of training that resulted in a susceptible progression of the students regarding literacy. The systematization and organization of the work contributed considerably to the learning in the school context and in the personal development of the teacher.
