The present work is found in the field of Art History and aims to analyze how nature influenced the recreations of Sergipe painters. The artists chosen for this analysis were: Horacio Hora (1853-1890), Jordão de Oliveira (1900- 1980), Jenner Augusto (1924-2003) and José Inácio Alves de Oliveira (1911-2007). This choice is justified due to their relevance in the regional artistic scene; the scope of an extensive time frame, ranging from the mid-19th century to the beginning of the 21st century and the representative possibility of several artistic schools. The theoretical references of the work are: Francastel (2011), Gualis (1996) and Suassuna (2013). The relevance of the work is given by the fact that this study generates reflections about the importance of environmental preservation, a topic widely discussed today. In addition, few academic productions deal with the History of Sergipe Art, as well as studies that analyze the representations of nature in painting; in this sense, this research presents a pioneering character. It is concluded that the nature recreated in the paintings of these artists is composed from the subjective experiences of each of them with different natural environments.
