Resumo: | The objective of this study was to analyze whether conceptual maps could represent, in a summarized way, the elements explored in the classroom, in the contents of zoology, and if they could facilitate the teaching and learning process. This research was developed with a second year class from the Centro Mação Educacional Mundo, located in the municipality of Barra dos Coqueiros (SE), in which we used the construction of conceptual maps as an instrument for verification of learning and difficulties related to the Philosophy Porifera And Cnidaria. From the conceptual maps, elaborated by the students, were quantified the percentages of subjects understood or not by the students, being verified good general indices of learning with difficulties in the contents of physiology, that presented the lowest indices of knowledge. We also verified from the analysis of questionnaires answered and analyzed qualitatively that most of the practicing teachers who analyzed the conceptual maps considered them adequate for use in both elementary and secondary education, with the adequacy of content spoken during the class . It was also evidenced in the questionnaires of both teachers and students that the conceptual maps constitute a facilitating instrument in the teaching and learning process in Invertebrate Zoology, making classes more pleasurable, attractive and dynamic. |

Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida com uma turma do segundo ano do Centro Educacional Mundo Mágico, localizado no município de Barra dos Coqueiros (SE), na qual utilizamos a construção de mapas conceituais como instrumento de verificação de aprendizagem e de dificuldades relacionados à temática dos Filos Porifera e Cnidaria. A partir dos mapas conceituais, elaborados pelos alunos, foram quantificados os percentuais de assuntos compreendidos ou não pelos alunos, sendo verificados bons índices gerais de aprendizagem com dificuldades nos conteúdos de fisiologia, que apresentaram os mais baixos índices de conhecimento. Também verificamos a partir da análise de questionários respondidos e analisados qualitativamente, que a maior parte dos professores em exercício que analisaram os mapas conceituais, os consideraram adequados para uso tanto no ensino fundamental quanto no médio, bastando a adequação ao conteúdo falado durante a aula.
