Estimativa dos hábitos alimentares e do uso de medicamentos : idosos residentes em uma instituição de longa permanência do estado de Sergipe - SE

Resumo: | The present study proposes to estimate the food profile and the use of drugs of the elderly living in a long - stay institution in the state of Sergipe - SE. In this way this study is observational, descriptive with a cross - sectional design performed with all the elderly of the institution. For this purpose, a semi-structured questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument, which was applied to the elderly with verbal comprehension and communication skills and with preserved cognitive functions. The data were collected through medical records and authorization from the institution. The collection was carried out in the second half of 2016 and in the first half of 2017 and involved 73 elderly people, 56.16% female and 43.8% male. It was observed that patients ingest large quantities of milk and milk products, as well as breads and cereals, which can lead to a low absorption of vitamins. These eating habits in turn reflect on the body mass index (BMI) of the elderly. When 34% of the women and 47.2% of the men had an overweight index and 6% of the men and 17% of the women presented Obeso I. It was also found according to the classification made according to the Anatomical Therapeutic Code (ATC) that 27, 92% of the elderly use drugs for the Central Nervous System (CNS) and 23.13% for the cardiovascular system. In this context, it was noticed that the elderly people assisted in the majority have an adequate nutritional state and make use of prescription drugs. However, the presence of a pharmacist is important in the health team of the institution, because within any and every health treatment of patients the pharmacist is fundamental in the care for them. |

Deste modo este estudo é observacional, descritivo com delineamento transversal realizado com todos os idosos da instituição. Para tanto, utilizou-se como instrumento de coleta de dados um questionário semiestruturado, que foi aplicado aos idosos com capacidade de compreensão e comunicação verbal e com funções cognitivas preservadas. Aos demais idosos os dados foram coletados por meio de prontuários e autorização da instituição. A coleta foi realizada no segundo semestre de 2016 e no primeiro semestre de 2017 e envolveu 73 idosos, sendo 56,16% do sexo feminino e 43,8% do sexo masculino. Observou-se que os pacientes ingerem grande quantidade de leite e derivados, além de pães e cereais o que podem levar a uma baixa absorção de vitaminais. Estes hábitos alimentares por sua vez refletem no índice de massa corporal (IMC) dos idosos. Onde 34% das mulheres e 47,2% dos homens apresentam um índices de Sobrepeso e 6% homens e 17% mulheres apresentam Obeso I. Constatou-se ainda segundo a classificação feita de acordo com a Anatomical Therapeutic Code (ATC) que 27,92% dos idosos fazem uso de medicamentos para o Sistema nervoso Central (SNC) e 23,13% e para o aparelho cardiovascular. Neste contexto, percebeu-se que os idosos assistidos tem em sua maioria um estado nutricional adequado e fazem uso de medicamentos prescritos.
