Resumo: The new coronavirus pandemic generated strong impacts not only in the health sphere, but also in activities favorable to the sale and purchase of services and/or goods. The intensification of the COVID-19 threat has resulted in a number of problematic issues, an example of the rigid blocking rules associated with limited trade openings, in order to minimize or even inhibit the internal and external proliferation of the virus. E-commerce, therefore, has become one of the main business activities that have managed to grow and spread amid the pandemic crisis, as, as a result of the limitation of commercial activities in the physical sphere, electronic commerce that activities and deals traded online. That said, a survey of this study extends to the need to study this unique moment that the Brazilian and Sergipe economy in their respective market environments have been going through the profound changes brought about by COVID-19, which culminated in a technological diffusion of the use of and e-commerce by associations. Thus, this research has the general objective of understanding how the adoption of innovation in small food retail companies occurs during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis through the analysis of e-commerce. As for the methodological procedures, the research is qualitative and exploratory. The strategy used is a multiple case study carried out with food retail managers and public actors. Your sales results, like your activities, need to innovate business models through adoption and commerce which has led to an increase in your tasks, profitability and revenue, as well as automation, automation and modernization. of your processes. A intensificação da ameaça de COVID-19 tem resultado em uma série de problemáticas, a exemplo das rígidas normas de bloqueio associadas com aberturas limitadas do comércio, a fim de minimizar ou até mesmo inibir a proliferação interna e externa do vírus. O e-commerce, para tanto, converteu-se em uma das principais atividades de negócios que conseguiram crescer e se difundir em meio à crise pandêmica, já que em decorrência da limitação das atuações comerciais no âmbito físico, o comércio eletrônico permitiu que as atividades e negócios fossem realizados de maneira online. Dito isto, a relevância deste estudo estende-se à necessidade de estudar esse momento único que a economia brasileira e sergipana em seus respectivos ambientes mercadológicos tem passado frente às profundas mudanças proporcionadas pelo COVID-19, que culminou em uma difusão tecnológica do uso do ecommerce pelas organizações. Assim, esta pesquisa possui como objetivo geral compreender como ocorre a adoção da inovação nas pequenas empresas do varejo alimentício durante a crise da pandemia COVID-19 por meio da análise do e-commerce. Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, a pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa, e do tipo exploratória. A estratégia utilizada é estudo de casos múltiplos realizada com gestores do varejo de alimentos. Os resultados demonstram que as organizações analisadas necessitaram inovar os seus modelos de negócios por meio da adoção do e-commerce em suas atividades e tarefas, o que levou a um aumento significativo de suas vendas, rentabilidade e faturamento, além uma digitalização, automação e modernização de seus processos. Como contribuições, sobre o ponto de vista teórico, contribui com a Teoria da Difusão da Inovação de Rogers (2003), ampliando a aplicação desta lente teórica em cenários de crise, além de colaborar com a ampliação de estudos sobre os impactos desta pandemia no âmbito das pequenas organizações e a forma como estas se adaptaram diante deste fenômeno.
