Globalized society is marked by consumption, individualization through the dilution of identities and the dispute for recognition. This work seeks to dialogue with these fronts and in conjunction with the theme of violence, which is so little questioned as a category in empirical research in the field of sociology. This course conclusion work aims to analyze how the consumption of images of violated bodies exposed on social media affects the subjectivity of the individuals who consume them. This research was created to cover the gap produced by the growth of users of social networks and their use as a source of information about violence. Based on this scenario, we seek to discuss how violence was addressed in the social sciences, its consumption, its relationship with processes of stigmatization, identity, incorporation, banalization, intervention and social mourning. In addition to the writing process and theoretical reflection, a virtual ethnography was carried out in WhatsApp groups to analyze the social dynamics and practices that revolve around the consumption of violence. The analysis was carried out in three procedures: Insertion in the field; The construction of iconographic data; The analysis of narratives produced from media consumption. Through analysis and theoretical discussion, it was possible to specifically aim the investigation of which lives matter and the process of social mourning through the narratives produced by the interlocutors when consuming violence, as well as analyzing how the shared content contributes to the process of criminal subjection and how stigmatizations are constructed through the exposure of faces.
