This article aims to address the relevance of using podcasts in the teaching-learning process of History in basic education. The new communication and information technologies (NICT's) are important instruments, especially in the current context, highlighting the need to include new resources in pedagogical practices. About the podcast, it has proved to be a valuable didactic tool that allows autonomy to the student, sharpens the critical sense, in addition, it can help in the optimization of time. In this sense, a qualitative research was carried out, in an elementary school class of a municipal school in the city of Lagarto/SE, with the objective of observing the educational potential of this digital resource. This audio content gains visibility day after day, and is very practical for both teachers and students.
