With the rising issue of the scarcity of water, a need for alternative methods grows. The reuse of rainwater shows to be an efficient way to amortize the damage caused by this challenge. Thus, this article aims to study and analyze the scientific production on the reuse of rainwater. To this end, a systematic review was carried out on the “CAPES Journal Portal”. 115 results were identified, and then, 30 were selected. Subsequently, the studies were separated into groups based on research strategy. Through this, the advantages of adopting these reuse systems are clear, as well as their proposed treatments and as a measure of their execution and profitability. It is concluded, then, that the reuse of rainwater is a way to reduce scarcity, but it still faces some challenges in its execution, especially in its public acceptance.
