Resumo: Researches on the Caatinga Biome are portrayed in the didactic books of sciences pointed to the absence of contents and outdated as the scientific theses. From some careers observed the existence of books, this research is a comic with the specific of the Caatinga Biome to be used in the classroom as a pedagogical resource for the study of the biome. As a general objective, this research that used Comics as a pedagogical resource, sought to evaluate the HQ "Flight to the Caatinga: beyond the white forest", as a mediating resource of the learning process of the contents involving the Caatinga Biome. For this, the comic was used in a seventh grade class of elementary school in two consecutive classes. The qualitative research was developed in three moments: pre-reading through the probing dialogue about the student's relationship with the HQ's, followed by the individual and silent reading activity of the resource, and the post-reading consisted of filling the resource crosswords and questionnaire. The answers were read and grouped into the following categories: students' acquisition of knowledge, student reflection on what was presented to them, and interpretation from the interaction between visual and verbal elements, or only visual, these categories were analyzed in light of literature. The comics used in the classroom reached its objectives, since, it enabled the students to develop reflective thinking, contributed to new conceptions about the caatinga biome and introduced new knowledge to the students.

A partir de algumas carências observadas nesses livros, esta pesquisa desenvolveu uma História em Quadrinhos (HQ’s) com conteúdos específicos do Bioma Caatinga para ser usada na sala de aula como recurso pedagógico para estudo desse bioma. Como objetivo geral, essa pesquisa que utilizou História em Quadrinhos como recurso pedagógico, buscou avaliar a HQ “Voo à Caatinga: para além da mata branca”, como recurso mediador do processo de aprendizagem dos conteúdos envolvendo o Bioma Caatinga. Para isso, a história em quadrinhos foi utilizada em uma turma do sétimo ano do ensino fundamental em duas aulas consecutivas. A pesquisa de natureza qualitativa foi desenvolvida em três momentos: pré-leitura através do diálogo de sondagem sobre a relação do aluno com as HQ’s, seguida pela atividade de leitura individual e silenciosa do recurso, e o pós-leitura consistiu no preenchimento do recurso palavras cruzadas e questionário. As respostas foram lidas e agrupadas nas seguintes categorias: aquisição de conhecimento por parte dos alunos, possibilidade de reflexão do aluno sobre o que lhe foi apresentado, e interpretação a partir da interação entre elementos visuais e verbais, ou somente visual, estas categorias foram analisadas à luz da literatura.
