Resumo: Red propolis has been deeply studied and has become a promising element in the treatment of numerous infectious diseases and in the formulation of new products with potential application in various industrial sectors. In this sense, the present study aimed to present the technological mapping through patents related to the use of red propolis, in order to verify the evolution of patent deposits. As for the methodology, the research was based on a mapping of patent deposits through the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) database and the European Patent Office (Espacenet), using the keywords "red propolis" in the abstract field . The data indicated deposits from 2014 to 2016, with China being the largest depositor of red propolis. It was verified that the largest deposited share was made up of individual inventors and that Brazil falls short.

Neste sentido, o presente estudo teve como objetivo apresentar o mapeamento tecnológico por meio de patentes relacionadas ao uso da própolis vermelha, com o intuito de verificar a evolução dos depósitos de patentes. Quanto à metodologia, a pesquisa baseou-se num mapeamento dos depósitos de patentes através da base de dados do Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial (INPI) e do European Patent Office (Espacenet), utilizando as palavras-chave “própolis vermelha” no campo resumo. Os dados indicaram depósitos de 2014 a 2016, tendo a China como maior depositante de própolis vermelha.
