The ISC control is an indicator of surgical quality and an important goal for patient safety. The risks present in the intraoperative period are the least studied due to the difficulty of direct observation of the procedures and full verification of the implications of these on outcomes and infectious complications. Studying them can contribute positively to a greater understanding of the occurrence of failures in the processes of this stage of the operative procedure. The objective of this study was to evaluate the risk factors present at the transoperatories, associated with surgical site infection. It is an observational, descriptive cross-sectional and prospective study. A sample was recruited for convenience. A collection of the data in standard form, performed by trained researchers present in the operating rooms, during the operative procedures. Statistical analysis was performed with Epi-info®, version 7, using frequency and percentage presentation for the qualitative and average variables and patterns for the quantitative variables. It was observed that although there is extensive literature on intraoperative risk factors, there are still measures to be established and revised regarding ISC prevention in the University Hospital. The safety regulations of the Hospital are followed in the vast majority, being recommended to review protocols only on certain topics. Despite a reduced sample, it was possible to obtain relevant information regarding the management of intraoperative measures of risk prevention, and a new analytical study was suggested in order to have more evidence of the findings.
