This work deals with the sources of today's scientific information, through the study of their mode of production, dissemination and validation. Digital publishing and its distribution opportunities currently comes leveraging the scientific publications that have become much more accessible and updatable. But investments in technologies are essential in scientific publishing process at the time to store, organize and make available reading them. This study highlights the importance of digital publishing and the availability of scientific information from the integration of technology with the scientific productions in electronic format and their types of publications, through the work of organization and representation executed by information scientists. The qualification of information, which is also measured by information professionals, is to ensure increasing the reliability of today's scientific information sources, check that in the past was linked to the traditional publishing process, on paper. Through ICT, it was possible to Librarians and Documentalists the production and dissemination of much of primary and secondary sources of scientific information, and the online catalogs constituted in the University Libraries and specialized tertiary sources of scientific information with excellent quality and acessividade. It concludes that the renewal of the scientific information sources format, highlighting the role of journals and digital publishing, ensures the dissemination of information safely and brings greater efficiency to the management of information professionals, especially Librarians and Documentalists.
