The purpose of this study is to present a more humane and functional Hospital of Custody and Psychiatric Treatment, which is characterized as much as possible by an institution that punishes individuals and allows the social reintegration of the patient in society. To adequately consolidate the work, a study was carried out focusing on the main problems understood through observations and informal interviews with employees and HCTP patients, as well as in the analysis of theoretical and architectural references. This work also shows the possibilities, both technological and design, for the humanization of the treatment of patients with mental disorders, giving them the possibility of dignity and social reintegration, through a larger and functional physical space that satisfies the Therapeutic demand of the Hospital. Therefore, we emphasize that the acquired learning in the history of asylum and Psychiatric Reform research contributed to the consolidation of the proposal, where we realized that mental health establishments were no longer a place of coercion and segregation and they became instruments of healing and Social reintegration of the mentally ill
