ASSIMILAÇÃO DA NASALIDADE NA FALA ANORIENSE: ASSIMILATION OF NASALITY IN ANORIENSE SPEECH

RESUMO: Este trabalho trata da assimilação da nasalidade que ocorre quando os segmentos assumem os traços distintivos de outros segmentos, ou seja, quando há um compartilhamento do traço nasal com a sílaba vizinha. Embora este processo seja bastante comum no Português Brasileiro, conforme apresenta o artigo “Nasalização em Português Brasileiro: uma revisão autossegmental”, de Costa e Malta (2015), existem poucos estudos voltados para esse tema. Considerando a relevância do resultado alcançado na pesquisa citada, o presente estudo investiga e analisa a ocorrência da nasalidade na vogal átona [a] diante das consoantes nasais [n] e [m]. Essa pesquisa fundamentou-se na teoria Variacionista de Labov (2008). A coleta de dados foi realizada através de entrevista com falantes anorienses na faixa etária de 30-50 anos. Conclui-se que a ocorrência deste fenômeno é comum no falar do anoriense. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Nasalidade. Assimilação. Sociolinguística.     ABSTRACT: This paper deals with the assimilation of nasality that occurs when the segments assume the distinctive features of other segments, that is, when there is a sharing of the nasal trait with the neighboring syllable. Although this process is quite common in Brazilian Portuguese, as presented in the article "Nasality in Brazilian Portuguese: review auto segmental" by Costa and Malta (2015), there are few studies focused on this topic. Considering the relevance of the result obtained in the cited research, the present study investigates and analyzes the occurrence of nasality in the unstressed vowel [a] in front of nasal consonants [n] and [m]. This research was based on the Variationism theory of Labov (2008). The data collection was performed through an interview with anoriense speakers in the 30-50-year age group. It is concluded that the occurrence of this phenomenon is common in anoriense speech. KEYWORDS: Nasality. Assimilation. Sociolinguistics.
