Resumo: This work aims to present the notion of linguistic duties and its contribution to the configuration of Linguistic Law as a field in Brazil. First, we present the state of the art in the area. Then, we show the trajectory that led us to create the notion of linguistic duties, illustrated with concrete examples of international law and Brazilian law. The study has theoretical affiliation to a materialist stance of reading language and law, in the articulation between the History of Linguistic Ideas (HIL), the materialist Discourse Analysis (AD) and the critical Philosophy of Law. Materialism.Este trabalho tem o objetivo de apresentar a noção de deveres linguísticos e sua contribuição para a configuração do Direito Linguístico como campo no Brasil. Primeiramente, apresentamos o estado da arte do campo. Em seguida, mostramos a trajetória que nos conduziu a formular a noção de deveres linguísticos, ilustrada com exemplos concretos dos planos internacional e brasileiro. O estudo tem filiação teórica a uma posição materialista de leitura da língua e do direito, na articulação entre a História das Ideias Linguísticas (HIL), a Análise materialista do Discurso (AD) e a Filosofia do Direito crítica.
