RESUMO: Sob o signo da subversão, Natália Correia revisita duas personagens consagradas da dramaturgia: o mito de Don Juan e a shakespeariana Julieta. Inverter os papéis pré-estabelecidos, criticar normas sociais e subverter tradições são alguns dos aspectos que tocam D. João e Julieta,drama escrito durante o contexto salazarista, entre 1957-58, e somente publicado em 1999, após a morte da escritora. No presente artigo pretendemos evidenciar o protagonismo do feminino e a subversão dos códigos canônicos na construção da personagem Julieta, assim como apresentar essa belíssima peça, que ainda carece de leitores brasileiros. Teatro português Escrita de autoria feminina.   ABSTRACT: Under the sign of subversion, Natália Correia revisits two consecrated characters of the theater: Don Juan’s myth and the Shakespeare’s character Juliet. Reverse pre-established roles, criticize social norms and subvert traditions are some of the aspects that touch D. João e Julieta, play written during the Salazarist context, among 1957-58, and only published in 1999, after the writer’s death. In the present article we intended to evidence the female protagonism and the canonical codes subversion’s in the character’s construction of Julieta, as well as presenting this beautiful piece, that still lacks Brazilian readers.
