Resumo: The article aims to analyze the text Noite na taverna, by the Brazilian romantic writer Álvares de Azevedo (1831-1852). Product of the radical feature of the romantic school, Noite na taverna consists of seven narratives that deal with seven male characters who drink in a tavern. The focus of the analysis was on the five protagonists, pointing out some characteristics of them that are derived from european “molds”. For this reason, in addition to knowing such “molds”, we also point out the influence of a certain European romantic literature on this work.

Produto da feição radical da escola romântica, Noite na taverna é constituída por sete narrativas que versam sobre sete personagens homens que bebem em uma taverna. O foco da análise recai em cinco protagonistas, apontando algumas características deles que são derivadas de “moldes” europeus.
