Anti-racist struggle, unity and transformation: a theoretical essay

Resumo: This essay reflects on the debate about race and class in Brazil, starting from the analysis of the central hypothesis that this debate is still rooted in a supposed impossibility that race and class form a unit. This old-fashioned idea, however, appears as a form of legitimation of the bourgeois ideology and expresses the real fragmentation of the working class as whole. In this sense, its progress involves a collective effort of mobilization and systematic organization and union between antiracist struggle and the fight against all forms of exploitation and oppression of class societies, that are observed in reality.

Essa forma ideológica retrógrada, no entanto, aparece como forma de legitimação da ideologia burguesa e expressa a fragmentação real da classe trabalhadora em sua totalidade.
