Resumo: In this essay we reflect on some of the theoretical concepts of Norbert Elias and Michel Foucault, especially as regards the use of the notion of power as a structuring and central concept in their respective theoretical productions and set of broader socio-philosophical reflections. In the first part of the text, we quickly outlined some biographical and bibliographical data of the authors. In the second part of the text, in turn, we discussed, in a relational form, how and in what way these authors have built their theories about the structure civilized/ modern disciplinary society under the comprehensive scrutiny of the “power” category.

En la primera parte del texto, bosquejamos rápidamente algunos datos biográficos y bibliográficos. En la segunda parte, a su vez, pretende problematizar cómo y de qué manera estos autores construyen sus teorías acerca de la estructuración civilizada/disciplinaria de la sociedad moderna a partir del clivaje comprensivo de la categoría de "poder".Nesse ensaio procuramos refletir sobre algumas das concepções teóricas de Norbert Elias e Michel Foucault, sobretudo, no que se refere ao uso da noção de poder como conceito estruturante e central em suas respectivas produções teóricas e conjunto de reflexões sócio-filosóficas mais amplas. Na primeira parte do texto, esboçamos rapidamente alguns dados biográficos e bibliográficos dos autores.
