Resumo: From January/ 1990 to January /1995, periodie observations were made in public squares and green areas at Ribeirão Preto city with the purpose to present the urban bird diversity. One hundred and thirteen birds species (including resident and migratory species) belonging to 34 families were observed.  Management of shelter and feeding areas is a very important action plan for conservation species.
