Resumo: Analyzes the way in which the term 'archival information' is characterized by the authors who publish in journals in the field of Information Science. Performs literature research in the BRAPCI base, the area of Information Science, which includes 37 journals from Brazil. Displays as a result five scientific articles that demonstrate the concept of archival information. In four of these articles the term archival information appears linked to the archival document with characteristics that are equivalent, and the support receiving an emphasis, highlighting so the physical record. The use of this terminology still requires a more careful evaluation, so not to incur in the simple name change, without proper conceptual basis. Concludes that the concepts linked to 'archival information', present lack of consistency and theoretical depth.

Realiza pesquisa bibliográfica na base BRAPCI, da área de Ciência da Informação, que abrange 37 periódicos do Brasil. Apresenta como resultados cinco artigos científicos que trazem o conceito de informação arquivística. Em quatro desses o termo informação arquivística aparece vinculado ao documento arquivístico, com características que se equivalem, sendo que o suporte recebe um destaque, ressaltando, assim, o registro físico. O uso dessa terminologia ainda requer uma avaliação mais criteriosa, para não incorrer na simples mudança de denominação, sem a devida fundamentação conceitual.
