Resumo: Information literacy occurs during the school period, the stage of life in which children develop the skills of decoding written signs with paper support. But before school and parallel to it, children learn the mastery of electronic media and acquire digital literacy with the use of smartphones and tablets. Children's literacy lends itself to this literacy, as it stimulates the cognitive and the imaginary. In a research that is characterized as bibliographic and qualitative, literature presents itself as a temporary suspension of disbelief, children's literature as traveling between functionality and the poetic, history of the handwritten to the digital book, printed books for children and interactive e-books for children. It is registered that in the 21st century, electronic media invade the publishing market and change the way of telling stories, the way of reading and the nature of the narrative. It is argued that these technologies have changed children's competence and literacy skills, moving from traditional to digital literacy. It is reinforced that in the hypermedia environment, resources are inserted that allow children to interact dynamically with the narrative. In conclusion, if information literacy is accompanied by digital literacy, interactive e-books for children will be one more way of prioritizing literary reading, fundamental to nurture creative imagination and expressiveness.
