Resumo: This article aims to discuss and problematize the mythical representation of the prophecy that made the Tabajara people resurface, which represents a milestone, not only for the indigenous community of Paraíba, but also for Brazil. This is because the resurgence of the Tabajara people is completely related to an ancient prophecy in which Ednaldo Tabajara is the central character. In this way, we intend to show the vivacity of the myth, present in the studied prophecy, which only makes sense due to the value of veracity granted to it by its community, as evidenced by our research sources, such as Eliade (1992), Campbell (1992, 2003, 2004), Barcellos (2012), Farias e Barcellos (2015), Vilhena (2015), Figueiredo (2020), Marques (2015), Resende (2018), among others. Thus, what could only be seen as a fanciful account, becomes true, in view of the sacredness and belief that permeate this story.
