Resumo: | This essay discusses the conceptions of body and health outlining the period of life named midlife, based on the production analysis available online from the Physical Education Strictu Sensu post-graduate programs in Brazil, up to December 2009. The empirical material selection process obtained two thesis and seventeen essays, on which was used the content analysis method, with emphasis on the theme analysis. The results indicate that the conceptions of body and health are distinguished by a predominant reductionist and fragmented perspective, expressed in the exclusivity of the anatomical and physiological analysis and an emphasis on illnesses, rather than health. |

Este artículo discute las concepciones de cuerpo y salud con recorte en el momento de la vida denominado media-edad, a partir del análisis de la producción disponible online de los Programas brasileños de Postgrado Estricto Pesquisa en Educación Física, hasta 2009. El proceso de selección del material empírico recuperó dos tesis y diecisiete disertaciones, sobre las cuales se utilizó el método de análisis de contenido, con énfasis en el análisis temático. Los resultados indican que las concepciones de cuerpo y salud se caracterizan predominantemente por una perspectiva reduccionista y fragmentada, expresada por la exclusividad del análisis de la anatomofisiologia y un énfasis en la enfermedad y no en la salud. Este artigo discute as concepções de corpo e saúde com recorte no momento da vida denominado meia-idade, a partir da análise da produção disponível on line dos Programas brasileiros de Pós-Graduação Estrito Senso em Educação Física, até 2009. O processo de seleção do material empírico recuperou duas teses e dezessete dissertações, sobre as quais se utilizou o método de análise de conteúdo, com ênfase na análise temática.
